State Testing
Dear Wolfpack Families,
During the months of April and May, grade 3-8 state assessments in ELA, Math, and Science take place. Federal law requires that New York schools administer a test each year to measure student outcomes. Our students will participate in the computer-based testing platform at the times noted below.
These tests will be administered in two sessions, both of which are untimed. As long as students are working productively, they will have as much time as they need to complete each test session within the confines of the regular school day.
The assessments for grades 7-8 will occur promptly at 8:30AM according to the schedule below:
ELA Testing
Grades 7-8: April 14 and 15
Math Testing
Grades 7-8: April 28 and 29
Science Testing
Grade 8: May 12
The results of these examinations are used to provide feedback in relation to student learning and necessary educational adjustments as set forth by the state. They are also a requirement for students who wish to be considered for accelerated courses should they be offered.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. We want to ensure you have any answers to questions you might have prior to the noted testing dates.
Educationally Yours,
Adam Larson
Middle/High School Principal
