BCANY All-Star Showcase features Rockland senior

Rockland Wolves Senior Ben Johnston participated in the Mid-Hudson BCANY All-Star Showcase on Sunday, Nov. 1. This was his third year participating.

Players are nominated by their coaches, who have to provide statistics and write a summary of why they players were nominated.

"Ben has been a standout talent since he was a freshman," basketball coach Charlie Hicks said. "Not only do his statistics stand by themselves, his hard work, character and blue collar attitude makes him a perfect candidate. I am very proud of him, and he deserves the honor."

Ben was one of only two players from Sullivan County chosen to participate in the senior game. And although his team did not win, it was a good experience, Ben said.

"It was a huge honor to be invited by the Basketball Coaches Association of NY to play in the All-Star showcase," he said. "I am very grateful to have been able to play alongside the best players in the Mid-Hudson area. It was a great way to get back into the swing of things and start the season.”
