To help get in the spirit of Homecoming, Rockland MS/HS will celebrate Spirit Week next week with a different theme each day.
Monday, Oct. 5, is Decades Day. Building on the Back-to-School event, students and staff are encouraged to dress to represent a decade. Tuesday, Oct. 6, is White Lie Day. While we don't encourage lying, this encourages folks to wear a t-shirt with an appropriate white lie about themselves. For example, if you can't cook, wear a shirt that reads "I'm basically a chef," or if you aren't musically inclined, an "I can play the guitar" shirt would work. Wednesday, Oct. 7, is School Colors Day. There will be a pep rally that morning, so show your school pride by wearing purple and black. Thursday, Oct. 8, is Dress for the Wrong Occasion Day. Wear clothes appropriate for school but don't match the occasion. For example, pajamas, formal wear, shades and boardshorts. Friday, Oct. 9 is Hawaiian Day. Break out the leis, floral shirts, sunglasses and tropical vibes.
We look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
Also on Friday, is the homecoming dance and bonfire. The semi-formal dance, open to students in 7-12, will take place in the MS/HS gym from 6-8 p.m., with the crowning at 7:45. The cost $10, with concessions available for purchase. See Ms. Finkel for an outside guest pass form. A bonfire on the track will follow the dance.
